  • The Psalms Class with Fr. Mike Sundays at 9:15 a.m., June 16-July 14, & August 4-18, Parish Hall, Classroom 2

From the very beginning, Israel was a covenant community whose primary bond was worship of Yahweh. Whether in sacred places, in times of crisis, or moments of great victory, the life of the nation centered on worship. Thus, the Book of Psalms has such a key role in the Old Testament, revealing the "faith of the community." B.W. Anderson wrote the psalms are "the finest example of Israel's conversations with God."  By looking at several genres or types of psalms - gratitude, praise, lament, help, remembrance, instruction, prophecy - we might seek a deeper relationship with God and each other.

    July 7           Psalms of Lament/Individual (12, 27, 62)

    July 14         Psalms of Help/Corporate (44, 79, 83)

    August 4     Psalms of Remembrance/Israel (114, 105:1-15 and 45, 136)

    August 11   Psalms of Instruction/Torah (1, 25, 112)

    August 18   Psalms of Prophecy (50, 81, 92)

Children's Chapel

Children's Chapel happens most Sundays, during the 10:30am Eucharist. It is a time to reflect on God's word, in song and prayer.  After the Gospel reading, children up to 10 years old, are invited to join adult leaders in the narthex. Parents are welcome to attend.  They return at the Peace to rejoin their families.
