  • Music Ministry Updates

Do you play the trumpet, violin, cello, piano, guitar, rhythm instruments, oboe, or other praise worthy instruments? We need people of all ages and levels to lead the 10:30 am Traditional and 5 pm Contemporary worship service.

    Adult Choir

The Adult Choir sings a variety of music at the 10:30 am worship service. Styles may include gospel music and Gregorian chant, covering the last 600 years of music history and brought to life by interesting and engaging composers from Johann Sebastian Bach to Charles Stanford and Morten Lauridsen and more. High school students through adults are welcome, and no audition is necessary. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 7-8:30 pm, August through June. Register for the Adult Choir here.

    Summer Choir

During the months of July and August, the Adult Choir will be taking a vacation. In its place will be the Summer Choir, a non-auditioned singing ensemble for high school and adults who love to sing, but can't commit to a whole year. The music will be easier and lighter, all talent and no talent, and no robing for the hottest days of Summer. Pick a Sunday in July or August, wear a single color shirt/blouse of ANY color, and join us at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary.

    Children's Choir

The St. Richard's Children's Choir rehearses on Thursdays, 4:30-5:15 p.m. All children in Kindergarten through 6th grade are welcome to join us. We also need parents who can bring snacks and help with the rehearsal.

    Handbell Choir

Beginning Tuesdays on August 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the Ridley Room, the bell choir will rehearse music for the 10:30 am worship service. Ringers High School and up are welcome to join. Reading music is not required, but is a help.

    Music 101

Have you looked in the hymnal or on a sheet of music and wondered what those strange black dots mean? This is a beginning course in basic music theory, designed for adults to get a better understanding of the language of music. Offered every Tuesday in July, beginning July 2nd 6-7 pm in the music office.

For more information about St. Richard’s Music Ministry, please contact our Director of Music/Organist Scott McNulty.
