KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY – CHANGING HEARTS, TRANSFORMING LIVES. IMPACTING THE WORLD

Kairos is a prison ministry, supported by our St. Richard’s community, with a mission to develop Christian community on the inside of a prison. The free-world volunteers show the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, with 42 inmates (residents) during a 3½ day weekend through talks, meditations, chapel visits, music, listening, and loving. After the weekend, small groups called Prayer and Share are held weekly and Reunion groups are held monthly with free-world volunteers to help the residents remain accountable for their walk with Christ. There are ways that you can make a positive personal impact on the residents attending the upcoming Kairos Weekend, March 23-24 Men’s Kairos Weekend at the Alfred D. Hughes unit in Gatesville. This includes baking cookies; financial support (purchase of a meal for a resident during the weekend for $5, or sponsor a resident for the weekend for $150); surround the weekend in prayer by signing up for 1/2 hour of intentional prayer; or attend the closing ceremony on March 26th, application must be in by March 1st. For more information, please contact Duke DuTeil or Diane DuTeil in the Narthex this Sunday.
