THE REV. KELLY JENNINGS
ASSISTANT RECTOR FOR FAMILY MINISTRY
Kelly’s love for Jesus, and all things Church, started before she can remember. Her liturgical formation began in a big children’s choir at All Souls’ Episcopal Church, in Oklahoma City. She majored in Japanese at the University of Kansas, and spent a year teaching in an Anglican school and orphanage in Osaka, Japan. But her best adventure yet, began when she went to seminary and met Austin native, Nathan Jennings, who was the only one wearing cowboy boots at Yale Divinity School in 1998. They were married in 2000.
She was ordained in 2004, and both of them came to Austin in 2005, where Nathan has served at the Seminary of the Southwest, as Associate Professor of Liturgics and Anglican Studies. They have two children, Vitaly and Maria, who reveal every day to them God’s grace and love.
Kelly is a trained catechist for Levels I, II, and III, (covering ages 3-12) in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd formation program for children. She is deeply grateful to have been given the opportunity to establish, with the help of so many volunteers, this program at St. Richard’s.
