A Musical Feast Concert Series

Every second Sunday of the month; free and open to the public!

A MUSICAL FEAST CONCERT SERIES presents the AUSTIN BRASSWORKS on SUNDAY, April 12th at 5:00 P.M. in the Nave!

“What’s OP-era, Doc?” Favorite opera themes abound as Austin Brassworks romps through fun brass quintet settings of excerpts from Carmen, The Magic Flute and Lohengrin, the overture from The Barber of Seville, works by Puccini and Verdi, and great moments from HMS Pinafore! Great humor and general lightheartedness paired with clean, expressive playing — come and enjoy!

The Austin Brassworks was formed in 2018, although its origins extend back to 1998. The group plays original works for brass quintet as well as high-quality transcriptions of a wide range of musical selections (classical to jazz to pop). Robert Laguna and Jose Yznaga are on trumpet, Chris Willian on French horn, Danny Schmidt on trombone, and Mark Cain on tuba.

Watch this space for some sample recordings and more about the performers! You can hear a preview at the 9:15 and 11:30 Easter Sunday services at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church!

Admission is free; if you are able to contribute, donations for the band will be gratefully accepted at the door ($10 suggested). Plenty of free parking is available on site at 1420 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock (78664).

St. Richard’s is all on one level and comfortably accessible for those who are mobility-challenged. For questions, please contact Music Director Sara Burden-McClure via sara@saintrichards.org.
